Brittania Arms, San Jose
July 2007
S’Ok. Brittania Arms is a classic, and if you are in the mood for English pub food, you will love it. If not, you’ll find few other choices on the menu and might go away feeling like you have been eating in English pubs for too long. Most of the time, we love it … and a large glass of Boddington’s or an apple or pear cider gets us unwinding and enjoying the evening. Brittania has karaoke most nights, and some nights actually has music by people who know how to sing. It can get a bit rowdy (fun, but rowdy) when it’s late and the beer has been flowing all evening. The shepherd’s pie, kidney pie, pasties, bangers and mash, onion rings, and fish and chips are all killer. It might not sound like it from this review, but it’s a great place to take the kids if you get there before 8pm or so.
